Taylor has always been drawn to the colors of the past, viewing items through an outsider’s lens, giving you the option to morph these rich,saturated tones back to a magical moment you would like to encapsulate forever.
One of her favorite memories as a kid was going to her Grandma’s ‘junk store’ as she called it, also known as a thrift store. They would find all sorts of fun things that she could bring home and give it a new life. As she lives in a fast consumption world, she values slowing down and revitalizing nostalgia. Most importantly, she hopes this bundle inspires you to create and have fun doing it!
Taylor Krz (ToadandSew) is a modern quilt pattern designer that lives and works in Seattle, WA. Her patterns pay homage to the surrounding landscapes of the PNW, and pull from a nostalgic color palette that is saturated with rich tones and hues. Her personal style emanates a unique blend of familiarity with bold geometric motifs. As a child, she was always drawn to art. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus on Illustration and Design. Post graduation, Taylor worked as Graphic Designer and Illustrator for a wide variety of different companies. In 2019, as a way to stepback from her computer heavy career and create using her hands, she started quilting. It quickly turned into something she wanted to pursue further creatively, which allowed her to combine her love for design with her newfound fabric obsession.Taylor’s quilts have been shown in quilt shows across the U.S., including QuiltCon 2022, and in the International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX. She has also been featured in the magazine Love,Patchwork & Quilting, and the MQG Journal.
